A big thank you to everyone who came to our (over subscribed) Heritage Open Day on 14th September where we heard about the history of the building from Age Uk CEO Tony Donovan, the restoration of the two war memorials in the Great Hall and information about LRFHS research into some of the servicemen commemorated. The event was supported by a number of Old Boys from the former school and by Denis Kenyon and Robin Jenkins from the At Risk War Memorials Project.
In Hinckley, we supported the Atkins Building with their week long exhibition with stories of past workers researched by LRFHS members. In addition, thanks to our Hinckley branch members for the family history research pop up desk.
