LRFHS Journal covers.

Our Journal

The Society’s quarterly Journal is one of the great benefits that a member receives on joining the LRFHS – it is part of the annual membership subscription package. It is produced in A5 format with high-quality coloured covers and its 70+ pages are illustrated throughout.

The Journal features submitted articles of family or local history relevance to Leicestershire and Rutland. It also carries news from the Committee and from our different county groups as well as updates from our Surname Interests service. Occasional book reviews and a general miscellany of family history news complete the publication. The Journal also carries a Mailbox section where letters or enquiries between members can be shared to exchange information or seek help with research.

A firm favourite

The Journal is a firm favourite with all members as it features articles of both general interest and of a more scholarly nature. Articles for inclusion in the Journal may be sent to the Editor by conventional postal mail or by email (the addresses can be found in the Journal). Microsoft Word format is preferred, but pdf files are acceptable. You may also send the article as a plain text email. Any images should be in jpeg format and authors must ensure that any copyright limitations have been addressed and that any required copyright ownership or permissions are clearly declared.

Writing for the Journal

Articles from members are always very welcome. If published they will only show the writer’s name and Membership Number (if supplied) unless the author specifically asks for the inclusion of other details, such as a contact email address. If a reply by post from the Editor is required then a stamped and self-addressed envelope must be supplied by the author.

Anonymous materials and/or images cannot be considered for publication.
