Baptisms In All Saints Church and St. Leonards Church Leicester

All Saints’s baptism register has been recorded and indexed from 1575 to 1921 – a total of 346 years and 17,749 baptisms. It does not seem to be included in the International Genealogical Index (IGI) after 1815. NB – Some names and baptism dates are duplicated in St Martin’s Church Register in the years 1809, 1810 and 1811 – the reason for this is not known at this time.

St Leonard’s baptism register has been recorded and indexed from 1682 to 1921 – a total of 239 years and 6,877 baptisms. It does not seem to be included in the International Genealogical Index (IGI) after 1837.

This CD contains the names of children or adults baptised, their parents (if given) and surname, plus date, year, microfiche reference and register number (if any). It is not a transcription, does not include any birth dates (if given), or additional information such as occupation, army regiment or abode etc. The original registers should be consulted for confirmation of details. They can be seen at the Leicester, Leicestershire & Rutland Records Office and can also be viewed on microfiche there. The Leicestershire & Rutland Family History Society have acquired most of the microfiche.
