Surname, forename and date of death are included in the index of 860 names in Oadby Cemetery and 1855 names in Wigston Cemetery. Age or date of birth is shown, if mentioned on the gravestone. Family relationships and other information has been recorded in the index but the original gravestones should be checked for accuracy. Some details were difficult to read whilst some gravestones couldn’t be accessed due to shrubbery and hedges.
Oadby Cemetery opened in the 1860’s, is situated off Wigston Road (B582) and has a car park off Cartwright Drive.
Wigston Cemetery has been in use since the 1880s, it can be found off Welford Road, south of Wigston Magna (A5199) and car parking is available within the Cemetery.
