Burial Registers from Saffron Hill Cemetery Leicester from 22 October 1931 to 30 December 2000.
The aim of this project was to transcribe the data from the Saffron Hill Burial Record Folio Books kept by Leicester City Council Bereavement Services Department and produce a searchable index of the records. There are over 23,500 records in the index.
The transcription, inputting and checking was carried out from scans of the original registers and was done by Leicestershire & Rutland Family History Society member volunteers.
The entries were copied from the following books now kept at Bereavement Services offices at Gilroes Cemetery & Crematorium.

SURNAME – Listing all of the burials together alphabetically.
CONSECRATED PLOTS – These are listed alphabetically with people buried in each plot. Note that stillborns and very young babies were buried commonly and there are many burials in each of these plots.
GENERAL PLOTS – These are listed alphabetically with people buried in each plot. Note that Muslim plots contain only one burial per plot.
