CD 153 Leicestershire Registration Districts Part 2 – Southern Leicestershire Marriage Indexes 1912-1920 and Church Finder 1921 – 1946
The Marriage Church Finder is an alternative index for finding marriage venues after 1920. Data Protection laws make it difficult to list names in indexes after this date but where a marriage took place can usually be found if the GRO volume and page reference for the marriage is known.
This Church Finder is for Leicestershire Registration Districts marriages (volume 7a) in the districts as listed below. It covers the period from the March quarter 1921 up to the June quarter 1946 when the Districts changed volume number to 3a.
In the Church Finder there is a total of 182 churches distributed in Registration Districts as follows: Billesdon 29, Blaby 36, Hinckley 25, Lutterworth 30, Market Harborough 62
CD154 Some NON-CONFORMIST marriages in counties around Leicestershire 1837 to 1920
This is an index of some non-conformist marriages, including Register Office marriages from newspaper marriage columns, World War 1 soldiers’ records, original church registers and other sources.
They are available in a searchable index and are combined with the General Register Office volume and page number for that marriage taken from FreeBMD.
Further details are available from newspaper marriage entries sometimes, such as father’s name, address, town or village, or occupation but are beyond the scope of this index. Searches can be made in the relevant county newspapers shortly after the date of the marriage.
Includes records from Derbyshire, Lincolnshire, Nottinghamshire, Northamptonshire, Warwickshire and Staffordshire.
