This 6-week LRFHS course will help attendees take the first steps in researching their family history. The initial focus will be on searching for births, marriages and deaths, followed by looking at how to find and interpret census data. There will be guidance on using the websites Ancestry, Findmypast and FamilySearch.

Alongside presentations there will be plenty of opportunities for personal research.

The course tutor is Kevin Brown, LRFHS Vice-Chair, ex-professional genealogist, member of the Society of Genealogists’ Experts Panel, and Leicester University trained historian.

Sessions will be on Mondays from 10.30am to 12.30pm: 9 March, 16 March, 23 March, 30 March, 13 April, 20 April.

The cost for the 6-week course is £30 (LRFHS members), £45 (non-members)
