The index lists the names of the Bride and Groom, as well as the church name. It gives the date of the wedding and the page number where it can be found in the Chronicle. The village or town name, and whether married in Leicester, are given as well. It also includes, where provided, optional personal information such as details of occupation, hobbies, and any military details of the Bride and Groom, adding a personal touch to your research.

- An index of events in the Illustrated Leicester Chronicle from Oct 1939 fo Dec 1946 A surname index of 9,500 names published in the newspaper during and after World War 2. Some names are repeated in a later edition, with few entries at the start of the war but the momentum gathered pace as would be expected. Towards the end and continuing into 1946 there are long lists of returning prisoners of war.
